If you've installed Starbound via GOG Galaxy: [Galaxy directory]\Games\Starbound. Step 3. Open the folder named mods. Step 4. Paste your mod into the folder. If the mod has .pak file, paste it right there. If the mod doesn't have .pak file but has folder with the name of the mod (e.g. "Dungeon Mod"), paste the whole folder. But, Starbound seems to have won the popularity contest, somehow. Don't buy it yet , game lacks lots of content and there are character/worlds wipes with nearly each patch. Overall game is kinda boring if you compare it to Terraria , you just grind 1000 ores for new item set then another 1000 ores for item that summons a boss.
I'm trying to figure out how to use the mods I have downloaded from the workshop on a dedicated server I can host while playing with friends so I don't have to be constantly connected. Starbound doesn’t really dial it up in the graphics department, so if you’re looking for a bit more pop in the visuals check out this mod which enhances contrast, colors, and bloom.
